This year, Match Day fell on Thursday the 17th. We found out this past Monday that Nate had matched and wouldn't need to be scrambling...phew! So, on Thursday, we headed downtown for the Match Day lunch with the rest of the 4th years and families. It was super crowded and really crazy. Everyone was so excited! They call a name and each of the 180 students in Nate's class goes up to get their envelopes and then takes it back to open it and see where they will be spending the next few years of their lives. They do a thing where the person who has to wait for all of the other students to go first and gets their names called last gets the pot of money that each student adds a dollar to. Wouldn't you just know that we were called SECOND to last. Seriously?! We had to wait for everyone else to go and then we don't even get the money! That's okay. I was just excited when Nate opened the envelope and saw that we were going to....
Oklahoma City!!!!
And YES, we actually do want to go there! It was our number one choice, so way to go Nate!! We are so excited to get the whole process of moving started. We will be heading there just a few days after graduation at the end of May. Nate starts orientation stuff mid-June and will be officially working as a doctor in July. What?!! We could not be more excited. The intern year in OK for anesthesiology can not be beat. Although I am SO sad to be leaving our home state for the last nine years and all of our great friends here to move into the middle of nowhere, we have heard only good things about the program and the area (minus the tornadoes) and we can't wait to live next to the Putnams again! Plus, now I can sing "Oklahoma" every day. It doesn't get much better than that.

Well I guess we can be excited for you guys. =) You have worked so hard to get to this point. We couldnt be more proud! If we find ourselves flying to the middle of nowhere could we stay at your place?
When is graduation? WE MUST come see you before you leave. We were going to fly back east soon anyways. =0)

Congrats, again, Alyson and Nate! We're thrilled for you guys, although we're sad you'll be moving so far away. I guess now that Nate is an official doctor, tho, you guys can pay for our flight tickets to come visit you, right?! : ) Can't wait to see you!
